I've been watching this documentary about Port Protection, Alaska. It's funny how the Friends of Coal has pushed propaganda and acting like the sun doesn't shine in West Virginia but they are killing off grid living in remote parts of Alaska. 👀

It's always been counterproductive. The only parents I ever saw charged with truancy during my years as a teacher, were poor students of color.

And that’s unacceptable. Allocation of money based on student attendance becomes counterproductive if it keeps sick kids in school and makes more kids sick.

Again, the system (including schools) is not set for the whole being of the masses, only for profit. Absenteeism in schools can lead to financial losses because many funding models allocate money based on student attendance. The system monetize EVERYTHING. The system must change. #HowCapitalismWorks

Doctors write notes for kids because kids are sick and schools require doctor notes.

Now the school wants sick kids in school.

That’s sick.

I have never known a doctor who wrote these notes except when it was absolutely necessary. This especially harms chronically ill disabled kids, naturally, who already have to deal with threats of truancy charges

Yes.

This is the traditional method of truancy enforcement, lock up the kids.

It’s not really any better than Kamala Harris’s idea of charging parents.

So they're going to put kids in jail for being sick?
