If war were just human nature, it would not be so deeply long-term traumatizing to participate in war.

If war were just human nature, military training would not amount to psychological torture.

If war were just human nature, there would be no need to pump literal billions into pro-war propaganda.

I will be writing another "Myth of Israeli Military Independence" entry soon. The hits keep piling up, and the more we disabuse the general public of the idea that the US was only indirectly involved in the war Israel unleashed across half the planet, the better.

Archaeologist here. For 99.5% of human history (ca 300-400,000 years), we were peaceful (no war). There was conflict and smaller scale violence, but countless studies on the 119 known modern hunter gatherer groups show cooperation, negotiation, and peace instead of conflict. Please read books.

Sounds like there might be a cultural / language barrier — “AT WHAT COST?” is a pretty typical American English joke that isn’t asking about the actual financial cost (I‘m in an apartment where hot water is included in rent) and instead jokingly complaining that something is unpleasant or difficult.

Haha well my post was a joke! I know they’re good for you, that’s why my post started with “I know cold showers are good for you” 😉

Genuinely curious how “no one is human to them” could translate into “self-reflective ally who deconstructs shit”? When no one is human except you, you don’t feel strong emotions about what stripe of non-human they are.

If you read the thread you’ll see that I clearly acknowledge and agree that their words and policies are racist — AND that I do believe this is an intentional and cynical power grab, intended (successfully!) to manipulate the white people who he scorns.
