But getting back on track, I'm really surprised that there were only eight Stadium types in the original KAR. Admittedly, the variety was still there thanks due half of them having different maps to play on. But still. That's less than I thought.

This is also one of two scenarios in which I see Marx NOT being a playable rider. The other being a City Trial Event.

The only ones that have not been featured at all are High Jump and Vs. King Dedede.

The former is very likely returning.
The latter... is not. Though I could see them opting to replace Dedede with another boss character.

There were eight.
Five of them have already been featured in the direct, and one of them was already shown in (at least) the JP direct as a thumbnail.

Idk. It might also be that it's certainly Trails in the Sky FC and I don't have the drive to go through the story again at the moment. Because I highly doubt I'll be experiencing this problem to nearly the same degree once Trails Beyond the Horizon comes out in two months.

To me, it feels like the game is telling me "hey this battle matters. we actively want you to engage with it". It makes me feel like I'm actually progressing instead of of just beating something up to make some numbers larger in an open field or dungeon.

(Now I realise that both of those are SRPG's and I'm not sure if or how this sort of format would work for 'standard' turn-based rpg's, for lack of better term.)

A turn-based RPG that uses specific combat sections is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. There is a set amount of battles in the game, and as such, a set amount of resources. The vast majority of battles are required. And I like that. Utawarerumono is also a favoured example of this for me.

There are exceptions, of course. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ avoids this issue perfectly by having specific sections for combat gameplay, as well as having a score/grade every time you complete one of those sections. Makes progression feel more like, The Wonderful 101 or Ultrakill.

Reason I suspect it's rpg burnout is that nigh-on anything that has some sort of experience system has become kind of something I avoid nowadays.
Number go up is nice, but at the same time, I also have been feeling that making sure "number goes up" has become a major chore for me.

Reasons I want Daroach to be playable in Air Riders:
-Cool as hell design.
-Ratte
-The most likely representation for Kirby's Flagship era, with Dark Meta Knight likely being out of the running.

Reason I'm using JP as my main point of reference is that they tend to mention the category at the start of their tweets. Events are marked with イベント for instance.

Stadiums, from what I can gather, are 4/7 going by the direct's collection (missing skydive, target flight, dustup derby), assuming those of the same type are grouped, but also they haven't tweeted about them in over a month. Gourmet Race was the last one tweeted (at least on JP) on sep. 5th.

Events I'm pretty sure are 5/9 revealed currently, going by JP tweets and the Direct Collection (+Derby/Short Race showcase). We're missing Kracko, Dustup Derby, large items, Portals, I believe.

Charge as well, I think. But for the patch types I'm not tracking them all that much since all of them have been revealed, and will likely be taken into post direct 2 if I had to guess.

Out of the unconfirmed copy abilities (Freeze, Tornado, Wing), I really hope Wing returns.
