We are 100 days away from the Obama Presidential Center Grand Opening Ceremony, which will be livestreamed around the world! Our campus opens to the public on June 19, 2026.
Today, Michelle and I are proud to announce that we will be hosting the dedication ceremony for the Obama Presidential Center on June 18th in Chicago, and welcoming the public on June 19th.
We can’t wait for you to visit. Go to obama.org to learn more.
This is not a monument to the past — it is a living destination for people who refuse to accept the status quo. If you feel that way, this is your invitation to join us. Sign up to be the first to know about updates, events, and tickets at Obama.org.
At the Museum, you will be moved by the powerful stories that the artifacts bring to life. Visitors can connect with our shared history, and be inspired to see themselves as agents of change.
You can gather for events, whether you’re interested in civics and democracy, arts and culture, sports and well-being, or food and climate — all inspired by the Obamas’ legacy, impact, and the values they’ve championed throughout their lives.
The campus features four main buildings: the Museum, the Forum, a branch of the Chicago Public Library, and Home Court. You’ll find world-class artworks, public green spaces, a café, a restaurant, a playground, a sledding hill, a vegetable garden and more.

On expedition in Antarctica, climate activist Luisa Neubauer sees the continent as a place of hope and a “very important reminder of what is possible if people come together, striving for peace, and the protection of our planet.” Neubauer was a 2020 Obama Europe Leader
"When people set aside their differences, even for a moment, to work in common effort toward a common goal; when they struggle together, and sacrifice together, and learn from one another -- then all things are possible." - Some weekend inspo from President Obama on connection and community.
Great art inspires reflection. Our new Museum building in Jackson Park features a granite “You Are America” façade.
Inspired by Barack Obama’s 2015 remarks in Selma:
“The most powerful word in our democracy is ‘We.’”
A reminder that America belongs to all of us.

“Believe, believe, believe, and dream.” Two years ago, Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren gave this advice to Hyde Park Academy students during the Future Series. Because champions keep going even when believing is hard. Today, we’ll be watching and dreaming about next year.
Love is beautiful. ❤️
Love this reminder from President Obama: “We can argue about how to best achieve these goals. But we can't be complacent about the goals themselves. For if we don't create opportunity for all people, the disaffection and division that has stalled our progress will only sharpen in years to come.” 💙
