Practical Applications of GenAl in Health Behavior Change in LMICs: White Paper Virtual Launch Event
The Stanford Center for Digital Health, in partnership with the Bay Area Global Health Alliance, was delighted to announce the release of a white paper on GenAI for Health in LMICs, with a virtual launch event held on March 26, 2025. In this discussion, we review the five key findings and hear from implementers in the field. Read and download the white paper here: https://cdh.stanford.edu/generative-ai-health-low-middle-income-countries The research was informed by a review of 250 projects, in-depth interviews, and organizations implementing GenAI solutions. The paper examines where GenAI is currently being used, the greatest successes, and how we can realize greater impact of GenAI both for behavior change and broader healthcare applications. Among others, it highlights recommendations such as the need for establishing standards for measurement and best practice, improving language and localization, and prioritizing investment in basic healthcare infrastructure alongside digital interventions.
