my process is slightly random. most of the time i'll just be pressing keys and making chords or melodies and see what sticks or choosing a good sample, and then i lay down some drums that matches the vibe, but sometimes it can be the opposite... it can make for some interesting results frfr

for me the best place is whatever you use for a melody or some kind of harmonic base (me personally synths and samples are great and that's what i mostly gravitate towards), but sometimes drums can be a great base to any song you make too, and i like to start with either of the two when i make music
