Day 15: Peach Beach, Section 3 Box Cut Skip.
I like the idea behind extending Peach Beach into a 3 section track, but there's unfortunately not much going on in Section 3.
At least this little jump adds something to the final bit.

Yeah, it's official. I'm washed at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Still love the game, and had a great time on stream, but my skills are NOT what they used to be.

Day 14: Faraway Oasis, the Rail Jump.
The motion trick into charge jump saves more time than my old line, but I still struggle with getting the trick off the rail just right.
It's still a neat sequence that sets you up well for the next rail ride.

Day 13: Koopa Troopa Beach, Charge Jump Box Cut.
All in all, this is a pretty forgiving cut once you get the timing down, and is really the only trick this course has.
And the laps are so short that I could fit it twice in one clip!

Day 12: Wario Shipyard, Starting Turn Tree Bounce.
I've known for a while that avoiding the water this way is faster but only now do I know that the instant wall detach is even faster than getting up to the higher offroad path, so I've implemented it here.

Day 11: Sky High Sundae, Starting Coin Path.
I knew this path existed, but I never did quite get the trick timings down to consistently get the first four coins.
This path is slower than taking the glider, but having a high coin count is worth it on this track.

Day 10: Starview Peak, the one big mushroom + charge jump cut.
Once you get the approach down, this is a quick one to learn.
There is a shroomless variant of this cut, but that looks like a nightmare to perform, so I just stuck with getting the charge jump right
As excited as I am for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, I'm purposely NOT watching the latest trailer.
I did see this poster, I know Wart is somehow in it, but at this point, I'm just gonna wait for the movie itself.

It's possible to do this while getting an item, but it's more consistent to skip the box here.
And yes, even though you end up in the snow for a bit, it's still faster than going around.

It's gotten to the point that I've seen it cited as the Switch 2's next big exclusive system seller, alongside MK World and Bananza.
It may not interest me, but if you like any combination of Pokemon, Minecraft, DQ Builders, and Animal Crossing, I'd say it's worth at least checking this game out.

Tbh, I'm still not interested in playing this game myself. Cozy life-sim games have never really appealed to me.
That said, it's been interesting to see online perceptions of this game go from "overpriced Pokeslop" to "potential GotY 2026 contender" in less than a week.

Day 8: Airship Fortress, Ending Mushroom + charge jump cut into rail path.
The part that's new for me is the charge jump, saving a fraction of a second more that the regular Mushroom cut.
The angle is more precise than one would think. Not much room for error.

MAN this movie is a wild ride!
Apparently this is typical of Studio Trigger, though I can't help but see a lot of Xenoblade X in this movie.
Is it perfect? No. Did some things just not really make much sense? Yeah. But was it an awesome watch? Absolutely.

Day 7: Wario Stadium, the Vailer cut (or so I've heard it called)
This one is all about getting the maximum height possible from a wall ride, and to do so, you need some very precise alignment with the wall.
Oh, and the tiny boost from the coin is required too.

Imagine Avatar (the mediocre blue people movie, not the amazing Nick show), but made by Pixar and a LOT more fun to watch.
I thought I'd figured out its message from the start, but the story went in an unexpected direction, one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Wasn't perfect, but I do recommend it!

I already knew a couple ways to tackle this path on top of the shops, but this specific one is new to me.
Speed control is a big thing here. Too fast off the wall detach and you fly all the way down.

Day 5: Desert Hills, Ending NISC
This cut is free if you use a Mushroom, but without using any items, it's pretty challenging. The angle is pretty tight, and if someone knocks away the torch that is used as a visual indicator, you just gotta eyeball it.
Not putting this on my media thread because I've seen it before, but my sister and I have been rewatching the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and yep, this show hasn't aged a day.
Just as good as when I first watched it as a kid, and still my favorite animated TV show.

I'd always wondered how to get over here. It's a risky jump, but here you're safe from pretty much anything that isn't a Blue Shell or Shock.
A fun little alternate route. And yes, the wall detach is necessary.

Day 3: Whistlestop Summit, Gap Jump + Ending NISC (Shortcat Method)
The gap jump isn't that bad once you have the right alignment and perhaps a recovery item.
The ending cut is a DOOZY. Took me a while to get the inputs and timing down, even with a guide.

Not so much a shortcut, but simply one of, if not the fastest known path to end section 2 of this track.
SOMETIMES, straight lines can be fun and interesting in this game!

The inputs may seem simple enough, but the timing and angle are a lot more precise than one would think. I don't think I'm consistent at this yet, but I at least know the visual cues.

Animation is top notch, and the parenthood focused story is one of the best and most heartwrenching I've seen in a while.
One of Dreamworks's best movies in recent memory, up there with Puss in Boots: the Last Wish and their older classics.
