Texas State Rep Collier is being held hostage in the Texas Capitol unless she signs a paper (she refuses). Texas Capitol police are there to arrest her if she tries to go home. The paper says she will return to the state legislature and not break quorum.

Collier: I refused to sign and so I was told that I was gonna have to stay here on the floor. They have locked the doors. The sergeants have been instructed not to allow me to leave until I have a permission slip.

Abbott said he has “bullets in his belt” for TX Dems. GVP advocates know the danger of this rhetoric. People I care about are scared for simply doing the job they were elected by me and my neighbors to do. It’s un-American.

Rep. Angie Chen Button's SB 38 would allow landlords to kick tenants out on the street just 3 days after an eviction notice. Rep. Mary Gonzalez introduced an amendment to extend that time to 7 days, giving working families a chance to stay in their homes.

I just killed HB 1091 – a bill that would've thrown out legally cast ballots from seniors and disabled Texans who vote by mail.

Republicans unanimously passed these rules in 2017 – now they want to change them.
