Do you mean "bourgeoisie" could mean that? The english dictionnaries are telling me it means "middle class" I'm so confused 🫠

I'm baffled to find out the word "bourgeoisie" means "middle class"? What the f'? In french, "bourgeoisie" refers to VERY wealthy people who are not from nobility (like a boss merchant).
