It's really hard to focus on remembering the small, kind, simple things in life. I often try to pause and just take in looking at my spouse, my kid, and my cats. Being in the moment is hard, but it's important.

It really is like looking at another person's thoughts. Even in memories, you're playing a movie of an old friend's life. Sometimes you cringe, sometimes you have sympathy, but it's all distinctly separate.

...until you get to the trauma that is. Funny how that's always a bit clearer 🫠

A six panel comic, three rows of two panels each. In the first panel, a corgi chases a butterfly across a long stretch of grass. He jumps into the air. In the second panel, the car key lands in the bottom right corner of the panel with such force that it causes the whole panel to tilt on an angle. All subsequent panels are also tilted on this angle. In the third panel, the Corgi looks around and realizes that he has knocked the panel askew. In the fourth panel, he walks up the now diagonal field towards the left corner of the panel. In the 5th panel, he starts pushing down on the left corner, like he is trying to force it down to straighten the panel out again. In the sixth panel, as a result of his pushing, the grass field detaches from the sky, tilting downward like it is connected to the bottom right corner of the sky by a hinge. The Corgi looks scared as the grass he is standing on tilts down into the white space

A six panel comic, three rows of two panels each. Poppy the dog walks along a path of mario blocks, including one question block. In the second panel, she is knocked over by the sudden appearance of a giant poppy, who has grown out of the sixth panel and now spans through panels 2, 4 and 6. In the third panel, poppy falls back and hits the question block, which drops a mushroom into the fifth panel. In the fourth panel, poppy stares at the back of the giant poppy that is crossing through the panel. In the fifth panel, the mushroom from the fourth panel lands on Poppy. In the sixth panel, Poppy becomes giant, growing all the way up to the second panel and knocking the second panel poppy over.
