Started rereading Project Hail Mary today for a group at school. Was already reading Replaceable You by Mary Roach and Wuthering Heights. Both are great but now it feels like I have to eat my meat and vegetables before I can enjoy the dessert I want to have. #booksky #books

Rereading it now, about a third of the way through, mainly because I couldnโt remember it the way the movie previews suggest.

I remember being a kid and finding out he was a Wilmington native, along with Roman Gabriel, and thinking how cool it was . This was before Michael Jordan hit the national scene.

Sometimes you just need a good spy novel. Donโt remember who recommended it a few years ago but I found it before Christmas at a used bookstore. Gave it a try this week. Definitely recommend #books #booksky

Some parts made me laugh out loud.
Spoiler alert- this book is just the first of at least 8, maybe 10 in the series.

My January list:
A bit all over the place seeing them like this but all were excellent:
The Odyssey by Homer
Only Son by Kevin Moffett
Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
The Stone Witch of Florence by Anna Rasche

Been wanting to have a place to share what Iโve been reading and saw a post by @jaredthfc.bsky.social that seems simple enough. Just do a monthly thread. So here goes. #booksky

I like it. Think Iโll try it too, though my list is likely to be much shorter.
Thanks for sharing.

Folks make a good point about the library and digital options make it even easier. But some of us just want to have our own copies. I marvel at (and have benefited from) those who can read and give away, like to local library friends groups.

There is an artistic beauty to Jordanโs game that is hard to explain. This a great picture.

Iโd love to see UNC - WFU next week but the secondary market being dictated by apps has made it so $200 is the starting price for a lower level seat. Most seats are much more. Even the nosebleeds are ridiculous.

Another non-goal setter, but I do keep track of my yearly reads.
I select books like I used to pick cereal as a kid. Just stand in front of all the books Iโve collected until one feels right. Reading โThe Odysseyโnow before the movie comes out, which is another great motivation.
