Aaay! I attended College for Creative Studies, right across the street from the DIA.

To anyone who doesn't know, you are encouraged to touch this statue, nicknamed "Artie", so everyone can see the way the oils from our skin erode the bronze patina over the years.

I want to use bsky more often but I spent like an entire year finely curating my art twt's fyp. Every single post is art, that's how I want it. And as much as I hate twt I am so tired of scrolling bsky and constantly clicking "show less like this" on tons of political discourse and fetish art.

It's almost January, which means it's downtime for my job for about a month. So I actually have time to do art for myself! And maybe some commissions. Now I just need the inspiration to hit.

Personally it makes me sad that artists I admire that were moots on Twitter are not here, but like you said no one owes you a follow. Maybe they haven't seen your new bsky, maybe they just didn't feel like it. You can feel disappointed but no one is entitled to follows.

Bluesky's "show more/less like this" feature is so incredibly useful. I'm using it to curate my discover page into 100% art, because when life gets to be too much I want a break from the drama to immerse myself in art.

In memoriam of an old friend

Oh wow! That's so cool. Now that I think about it, decorated nesting practices are also shared by birds. But, I still stand by my belief, because these grand displays are always made in hopes of reproducing. Beautiful, but it's not made for beauty's sake, that's something I only see in humans.

I believe art is what separates us from the animals. Some animals can be trained to put paint to canvas like dogs and elephants, but art is an innate human expression. We will never stop creating cuz it is in our nature. Scams and fads will come and go, true art is forever.

I still have a Twitter for reasons I've stated many times before, but I am SO happy to not be stuck there. If I ever do choose to leave Twitter forever, Bluesky is a great new social media home.

I know that I can just view my following tab, or find feeds dedicated to art which I'm sure I will use, but sometimes feeds will have very different content splashed in here and there, like just cuz someone says the word "art" doesn't mean I'll be looking at a piece of art. I love the Discover feed💙

The personalized algorithm here is really spot on. When I scroll my timeline I only want art, no shitposts, no politics. Yesterday my discover tab was almost nothing but politics. After utilizing the "see more/less of this" my tl is now exactly as I want, discovering new art!

Finally all caught up on posting my art in chronological order from 2006 to 2024.

I hope to continue creating more Muses and art studies, but my career demands a lot of my time and creative energy. Jan & Feb are typically my off months, so I should have time then 💙
