The way I just sorted all the little piles of junk around my apartment that had accumulated all winter makes me think I should seriously consider getting a SAD diagnosis

Once again, the task I was putting off for months took 30 minutes to finish, and once again I will not learn a single lesson from this

Just imagine if as much rage were as directed at the Republicans for what the Republicans are doing as there is at the Democrats for what the Republicans are doing.

You’ve Probably Never Heard of “Murc’s Law”, But You’ve Seen It in Action Lots of Times Murc’s Law is “the widespread assumption that only Democrats have any agency or causal influence over American politics”. In other words, Democrats are responsible for  Republican…

It’s actually kind of crazy that we make our muscles work better by consuming the muscles of other creatures

I just like fields of wildflowers. The more color and variety, the better.

Another great next 1% solution is to cap the cost of any medication you can buy otc at $1 per dose if it’s given to you in a doctor’s office or hospital

Anything that makes it harder for health insurance ceos to bleed us dry is a step closer to Medicare for All and we need to recognize that and celebrate like the right does if a single Planned Parenthood is shut down for one day. Which is LOUD and VICTORIOUS.

A great next 1% solution is to make insurers stop putting bloodwork in arbitrary “diagnostic” and “routine” buckets and just cover them both the same

A great next 1% solution is to cap the price of EpiPens to $35 like insulin, or less if possible.

A great next 1% solution is to require doctors to notify their patients if they are moving out of network 6 months in advance so patients have time to find a new doctor that’s accepting new patients and keep up their appointment schedule

A great next 1% solution is to require every service offered at a practice be in network for every provider they work with, so you don’t get surprise out-of-network charges when you’ve chosen an in-network practice and doctor

And you all freaked out about every single chip the right made at abortion rights along the way alongside them, so don’t act like you don’t know how to do this.

We should have said “one step closer to a single payer system” instead of “it’s not Medicare for All so it’s not good enough and it’s basically nothing”

- Allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices
- capping insulin prices at $35
- forbidding medical debt from affecting your credit score

We should have been throwing confetti from the rooftops like the right did when one state required abortion providers to have admitting privileges at hospitals

We would be a lot closer to Medicare for All if we celebrated and accepted every 1% improvement to the medical system the way the right did with every 1% step towards a total abortion ban.

I'm just going to keep pointing out these small* moments of collective action until it starts to click with folks that if we stand together we have all of the power.

*this is actually a huge fricken deal, and it only took a couple clicks from a bunch of folks who collectively said No Fucking Nazis.

live in a red district and want to inconvenience tyranny?

call your rep DAILY with an update on the local price of eggs and a demand to know why the Republican Party is focusing on nonsense issues only weirdos care about instead of keeping their promise to lower the cost of household staples

I mean YouTube has historically been a bit more polished/ formal for the last few years but I think with the giant social media exit/ reshuffle the norms are going to change for a lot of platforms. Do what you want and the people who vibe with it will find you!

Also this is why I just roll my eyes at everyone going to Red Note and coming back like “the government lied to us!!! They have cities and grocery stores!!!!!”
You want a glorious leftist revolution but you think only white western countries have access to running water.

I posted a few days ago that I’m wary of algorithms, but I truly do think all algorithms are detrimental to political health and public discourse, and this is quickly becoming my most sincerely held belief.

Yes I’m mad at the gov for the ban. But I’m the most radicalized rn against having the bulk of my social interactions, and frankly my day, driven by algorithms made to monopolize my attention by for-profit companies for who they want me to see and who they want me to interact with

It was nice to have such a nice day where I accomplished some little things. I think I would have been scrolling for hours and not done a lot of that if tiktok had been up, and I would have had a worse day because of it.
