I'm an indie developer that tries to make fun and engaging games. I'm usually online most of the time, but I won't be working on most weekends. Currently Working On: Voyagers: an open world space exploration game.

Also, sorry about the video's lag. I still haven't figured out how to get my game to run on my GPU,so my CPU didn't have the best of times while making this video.

Yeah, that's why it's the only other thing I'm really considering in a nutshell. I'm not 100% about switching yet though, so we'll see.

I'm in quite the mixup, but I think I might switch to godot just for that. Either way though, I'm not going to take action for a couple more days just to see if there's any workaround.

Yeah. I'm not the best when it comes to game engines, but I don't really have a better way to take full advantage of the GPU for 3D Rendering.

My game runs in pure programming language, and I am wondering if I should switch to a game engine like godot. Game engines allow you to see what you're doing and sort everything for you, but coding everything yourself makes everything easy to customize. What do I do?

A moment of recognition to all you solo indie game devs silently grinding it out. Sacrificing fun and socializing in pursuit of a dream and a goal. Worrying if it's good enough. Sweating the small stuff. One night at a time. Respect. You'll get there. #gamedev #IndieGameDev

Was messing around with some variables, accidentally came across incredibly satisfying animation. I'm probs going to use it for something at some point IDK.

Accidentally turned Cliff into a ghost LOL

For context I'm trying to optimize the character shader to be able to run on Quest 3, it's too heavy for mobile systems

There are 2 Options, both stating Undo (Ctrl + Z), however the top line is brighter and selectable, while the lower one is greyed out and is clearly unusable.

Noo! I accidentally deleted an incredible amount of code andโ€ฆ The greyed out undo buttonโ€ฆ It scares meโ€ฆ

Thankfully I keep backups because of scenarios this.

I have 2 planets that are MEANT to be an "earth" and a "moon" but they're not exactly... Gravitying? the planet is constantly pulsating between a z coordinate of 0.003 and -359, and the moon is just not moving a goddamn inch! If anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE CONTACT ME. Thx

Yeah, the functions thing is kind of an issue, but the language that I'm using really pays off!

OK, thanks for the info! And thanks for supporting me!

Also: up next is (hopefully) a planet ORBITING another planet! (What makes this feel sad is that it takes soo long to make any progress when your program won't let you edit the inputs of a function after you save, close, and reopen!?!? (Kind of a requirement if you want do something like sleep)

Me too, but I can only work so many hours in a day lol

Language? Secret. But yeah, writing your own game engine is rather scary. You just gotta know what your doing and stuff.

Using raw code rather than a game engine isn't too hard, and you get the benefit of really good customisation!

Holy lord, in just three hours I've received more support on this than I have on all my yt vids combined! Thank you for the support!

Game I'm Working On, I've decided on the name "Voyagers" and it's an open world space exploration game, but I haven't made that much progress. However, here is a rotating planet (I'm not using a game engine so this was incredibly difficult):
