Today the D.C. District Court granted a preliminary injunction against the Treasury. NATIONAL TREASURY EMPLOYEES UNION v. DONALD J. TRUMP et al,
Docket No. 1:25-cv-00935 (D.D.C. Mar 31, 2025). Have not heard what happened at the hearing in the KY District Court.

Any efforts to take down disparate impact, even if mired in court, will essentially kill all efforts to make AI systems less biased. We know what happens when we don't mitigate bias in AI, and I can assure it's not meritocracy and equality of opportunity.

Where Students Have Had Their Visas Revoked The Trump administration has quietly revoked hundreds of student visas across the country, wreaking havoc on the system.

This tracker from @insidehighered.com is a stinging wake up call to shake University leaders, workers, and students out of any lingering sleepwalk toward authoritarianism. An active tracker of 400+ Visa revocations. These are only “quietly revoked” (per the headline) if we let it happen quietly.
