William Barr is a villain but I believe he actually KNOWS what justice is but CHOOSES to serve his masters. I don’t think Merrick Garland even knows what justice is. He believes powerful, right wing men should be above the law. He thinks he’s righteous but he’s not. I’m not sure which is worse.
Merrick Garland spent his career in pursuit of justice. Tragically, his definition of justice purposefully excludes rich and powerful right wing men.
He doesn’t want anyone to think he’s politically motivated when he shows his face so he’s not going to do it. 🙄

I’m seeing some moderate institutionalist “experts” opining that a positive outcome may soon be coming. Seems nearly impossible to believe given our history of attempts at regime change. That sort of optimism comes from same sort of people who insisted that Garland was relentlessly pursuing Trump.

I believe there’s a third reason why ICE kills so many people - the job is attractive to psychopaths and the institution is built by psychopaths. To survive in that work culture you either need to be a psychopath or comfortable working with psychopaths.
