Tortuga Sandwich in Kenmore and Sanborn has some of the most clever and flavorful sandwiches and other food I've had in the Western New York area. My favorite sandwich is the Chivito but Tortuga is so much more than just sandwiches.

Cheezatar is pretty, pretty good

Dude I had to resist ordering the whole menu. Next up is gonna be an order of moutabal (eggplant and tahini dip topped with sumac and pomegranate seeds) and the kashkaval manakish flatbread.

New levantine restaurant just opened up in Kenmore, CheeZataar on Delaware Ave. It's a Canadian chain with four locations north of the border. I got a sujuk wrap (Lebanese style sausages topped with tomatoes, pickles garlic , and tahini sauce) and hummus with fresh pitas and a pickled veggie plate.
