This painting represents a stylized dragon head to celebrate the year of the dragon in 2024. It is a watercolor with bright colors. The dragon has 3 pairs of eyes filled with stars and tree branches grow around its skull. Its head is topped with several horns in warm colors. The foliage of the trees is represented by green and turquoise blue spirals. The whole is inspired by fantasy and naive.

You may know last year was wood dragon's year according to the chinese astrological calendar, and i wanted to pay my tribute to this mythical creature, my own way.

In this watercolor, Mictlantecuhtli is depicted from the front, framed by stained glass, two stones set with blue eyes, decorated with blue and violet feathers. A snake dividing into two heads emerges from the skull's mouth, and an anatomical heart is depicted at the bottom of the painting. The pieces of flesh usually represented on Mictlantecuhtli's skull here take on the appearance of cempazuchil flowers. The figure wears skeletal hands on his ears, and his eyes, nose and mouth are filled with stars.

In Aztec mythology, Mictlantecuhtli is a god of the dead and the king of Mictlan, the lowest and northernmost section of the underworld. He was depicted as a blood-spattered skeleton or a person wearing a toothy skull.

Indanthrone

This pigment started appearing in artist palettes in the 1950s, and was created to imitate indigo. It’s often used to paint the night sky.

I started this piece before the pandemic, and it’s been with me as a WIP through burnout, broken computers and depression. It compelled me though.

L’illustration représente deux verres contenant chacun un poisson rouge. Le verre du dessus est brisé et son contenu se déverse dans le second. Le liquide qui coule est couleur arc en ciel. Le poisson du premier verre est plus vieux que le second, et des petits crânes reposent au fond du second verre. La scène se déroule devant un ciel étoilé et des nuages de toutes les couleurs.
