Once upon a time, in place called Twitter, lovers of words, story, lyric, sound, movement, color, and craft inspired each other through insights and introspection. @maggiesmithpoet.bsky.social lived in that virtual community and so did I. What a gift it was to *finally* meet in person last night.
I've been here nearly since the beginning and I've been slow to really wade into it for a bunch of reasons, but as Bluesky grows and gets closer to circa-2012 Twitter in vibes, I think its lack of "purpose" actually IS its identity. No one here wants a social media platform with an agenda

12 years ago, I ran my first half marathon. Not long after, a serious back condition ended my running days—or so I thought. This summer I was able to train again. I ran my second half marathon a couple of weeks ago. #neversaynever

This is all great to hear. I’m doing well. Lost the bandwidth for social media during the downward spiral of Twitter. Have experienced some big life changes over the last couple of years. Am finally regaining some social capacity.
