Of course #Singtel has no bearing on Optus. They didn't cause the big outage several years ago by pushing an update without knowledge of the locals, reported at the time.

Triple Zero system under fire after Optus, Telstra outages Fresh outages at both Optus and Telstra have disrupted emergency calls in multiple states, leaving thousands of people stranded.

The Telstra outage came from the following story.

There is a simple fix. Remove the ability for Telcos to charge other Telco's to use their towers .
Or at least fix the price and make it mandatory. This is the least desirable option.

I hate being right in cases like this. The outages at Optus and now Telstra impacting 000 calls supports my call to remove the bar on automatically roaming to another carriers tower in the case of outage. Allowing Telcos to charge roaming fees was Ilconcieved when #Abbott did it in 2013.
