how are we feeling about Secret Level? a bit like Love Death and Robots, some episodes are incredible and some are a bit empty.

Difference here is that the less good episodes are clearly marketing ploys (that Playstation ep… off)

I hope the next series includes more genuinely beloved legacy games

the fact we even have a game is kinda wild to me cos 12 months ago i didn’t think it would ever release so for it to be at the very least satisfactory is a complete win for me

whatever mass effect will be, think we should have open minds about it and really let them cool

i think what most bothers me about DATV is that in previous Bioware titles it felt that the story and characters were developed first and then everything else after, whilst in this one it feels like that’s reversed and some over-correction of previous criticism

it’s kinda unforch. that DAI was compared heavily with the witcher 3, a genre defining game, and now DATV suffers a similar fate by being compared heavily with baldurs gate 3, another genre defining game.

would be interesting to see a direct comparison of the treatment of both DAs

i really enjoyed the game and i think it’s really solid, but there’s not the same sparkle that DAI had despite DATV being objectively a better ‘game’ (if not narrative)

lucanis is a precious sausage roll and i wanted an epilogue scene where rook is soothing him worrying about his hairline lmao

big fan of bold narrative moves but the DA iceberg might be too big to resolve ‘well’ or ‘satisfactorily’, especially given that what Trespasser was setting up was always gonna be a mighty task

solas is a fab antihero though, so caught in his morals that he couldn’t see the woods for the trees
