Shapiro was never actually involved in any music scene but was terminally online when, in the 2010s, people were tweeting β€œMigos could have made Yesterday, but the Beatles couldn’t have made Bando”

The β€œcool” position was to kinda hate on Paul (except for Abbey Road side B) and argue that the more obscure Beatles songs were the good ones

I saw Elliott Smith play a cover of β€œDig a Pony.” The Elephant 6 bands loved the Beatles and they were the pinnacle of Gen X cool in 1997

The first song my underground metalhead guitar teacher tried to teach me was β€œRain”

There really wasn’t any cultural capital in hating them until later. If you didn’t like them you just didn’t listen to or talk about them. It wasn’t a β€œcool” position to take until later. Most 90s indie artists openly admired them and covered their songs

I spent the second half of the 90s reading every music magazine, hanging out at Amoeba records, going to shows at the Gilman etc, and working at an independent video store. The only people I knew who hated the Beatles were noise and experimental artists

A little late to the party, but this @clppng.bsky.social Tiny Desk is so fucking good man. They basically strapped up a whole office's worth of clutter to a MIDI sequencer and let fly, along with the most beautiful piano I've ever heard: youtu.be/h0-k7vW9Xek?...

Oh man, @clppng.bsky.social's new @npr.org Tiny Desk Concert is a treat. Crazy mechanical percussion, David Rothbaum on fretless bass, the brilliant Sharon Udoh aka Counterfeit Madison on piano & vocals, and Kid Koala hopping on to the last 2 tracks!

at this point, if you don't believe that Epstein collected party tapes of depraved sex acts committed by politicians and celebrities and then had his hyoid sheared by a killer cop who hung him from his bunk on orders of the world's most powerful pedophiles, you're the conspiracy theorist.

Y’all, @clppng.bsky.social said β€œthere’s not enough desk” in Tiny Desk, so they did something bout it.

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for usβ€”who else is there to cheer for?

This here is why I support NPR. It’s how I find out about artists I might not otherwise hear.

The pitter-patter, at times mechanical rap flow, the scrapbot percussion, the lilting singing, the wild rethought of instruments, and holy cow Kid Koala’s spin!

WOW. I am a new fan of clipping!
