A product launch. Tesla has not released a truly innovative product in years. Hardware development life cycles are long, and the Cybertruck was a joke. Non-competitive prices, small production, tons of recalls and less-than-expected quality, all while pissing off target audiences all over the world.

Tesla's valuation might recover again for a bit (purely because of hype) if he blends hardware with some new tech, which might cut him some slack, but traditionally these multi-industry conglomerates are valued at the lowest multiple, not the highest, so he's backing into a corner. The solution?

- "Self-driving Tesla cars by the end of 2017, driving from coast to coast without the need for a single touch, inc. the charger." ❌
- Tesla is an AI company ❌ (meanwhile OpenAI)
- Tesla is a personal robot company ❌
- Tesla is a robo taxi company ❌ (meanwhile Waymo)
- Tesla is a data company ❌

Elon Musk is running out of moves. 🤦‍♂️ He must merge X / AI with Tesla but is walking towards a checkmate. There's no more magic tricks or rabbits inside that hat.
