that's actually fascinating to me! So, do the parents of the scouts actually make the cookies? we have fairly strict laws in the US about making/selling foods, so commercially-produced sweets make the most sense for food safety and consistent products, I guess.

When I was in college over a decade ago, I believe people had to get a four-year degree in elementary education followed by licensure to be an elementary/kindergarten teacher, but that may vary by state. Someone can go through that training and still be a racist piece of shit, unfortunately.
