I’ve been lighting up like Christmas lights when she trudges in exhausted from work—too tired to focus on TV, almost too tired to talk—and the first thing she says is, “Do you want to play more Resident Evil?”

The past 5 days have meant so much to me. Play RE9 with your person.

I don’t want to neglect practicing SF6, I have books I want to read (and write!) outside of gaming, and I obviously have a day job, but… damn, I would play every game all over again and let my backlog grow and my FGC skills slow a little bit for this.

We haven’t bonded this much over a gaming thing since THE LAST OF US season one dropped on HBO and emotionally involved her in one of my favorite gaming stories of all time. Now our two youngest rescue cats are named Joel and Ellie.

She’s a huge horror fan and campy movies fan, but she’s terrible at video games, so she’s only seen the RE films.

We are having SO MUCH FUN with me controlling the game and her directing me, advising, and reacting that I’m considering replaying all the games again with her.

I played (and loved) the remakes of RE2, RE3, and RE4, as well as RE7 and RE8… but only RE4 was after I’d met my girlfriend, and it was before we moved in together, so she barely saw any of it.

We are playing through RE9 together (almost finished!).

It does not have to be something big or flashy. You can call your reps. You can donate to mutual aid. You can boost accurate reporting. You can have that hard conversation with someone close to you. You can consider reducing your spending at places that fund this.

It’s easier to ride the momentum of a collective FGC movement for one of our own right now than it is to keep going once he’s home and it’s not all over your feed.

I am begging you to be galvanized by this and continue to consider how you can resist in the long term.

Is there a way to disable chat for YouTube streams entirely? I can't actively check it while I'm watching Twitch chat anyway, and if those kinds of spammers continue, it negatively impacts other people's experience. No idea why TF we had hard r's in my chat today. I'm so sorry.

I 3-0'ed an excellent Juri on the event stream for my first set, but I crumbled against Blanka so hard. Went through all the replays. Confident I'm learning. But still very disappointed.

I got double-Blanka'ed in Lightning Dome finals by the same two people who have been beating me all season, then got racist YouTube chat spammers for some godforsaken reason and had to issue a whole bunch of bans. Weird stream. Feeling kinda icky.
