On the 23rd of February 1965 Stan Laurel passed away. Sixty years later the legacy he and Ollie left still makes us laugh. #laurelandhardy

In Beau Hunks (1931) Stan and Ollie joined the French Foreign Legion to help Ollie forget about Jeanie-Weenie. Their Commandant was played by Charles Middleton (Ming the Merciless). The Flying Deuces (1939) again seen The Boys join the legion with Middleton again playing their commandant.

Oliver: Do you have to ask your wife everything?
Stan: If I didn’t ask her, I wouldn’t know what she wanted me to do.

When I think of shorts that are classic comedy gold, The Music Box (1932) quickly comes to mind. A key work from the creative minds of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, this Sisyphean tale of the duo trying to deliver a piano up a seemingly endless flight of stairs never fails to delight.

The Finishing Touch (1928) a silent film but perhaps the best pure slapstick film Laurel and Hardy ever made; proving they didn't need sound/speech to tell a story. #laurelandhardy

Supported by Leslie Spurling, Laurel And Hardy in 'A Spot Of Trouble' performed on stage during their 1952 tour of the UK. The plot was a reworking of 'Night Owls' (1930).

Stan: Your bath's ready.
Ollie: You know I can't take a bath with this foot; and besides, it isn't Saturday!
