Now do I need to wind a solenoid for it? Have you an experimental method?

I seem to have been lucky here. Having tested the resistors and found they were 1.1 megaohm I tried connecting an HT supply across the input terminals. This is at around 160V.

I'm guessing that is the purpose as it is labelled e/m assembly.

However i don't know what else I need nor what voltages are involved apart from the heater.

There is one in the science museum that has a solenoid in the box.

EM34 magic eye valve on box. 6.3AC for the heater which works, what to put in the other sockets?

picked this up cheap on ebay, worth a punt as the valve alone is normally £50.

Heater works, now what do I put in the other terminals? Must have been set up for a school demo.
