I love Rip City as much as anyone, but if public dollars are involved, Portlanders need to see real public benefits in return. That’s the standard and the baseline I’ll be bringing into these conversations.
Today is the last day to fill out my D1 Budget Survey! More than 300 of our neighbors have already let me know their priorities for how our City should invest our dollars.
The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete, so there’s still time if you haven’t submitted your input yet.
Portland ebike rebate program begins April 6. You must be at 60% AMI (Area Medium Income) to qualify. Get up to $1,600 off a new e-bike plus $300 for accessories in 2026.

We were asked what adjective we would use to describe D1 councilors as a group, and I chose bullish – not just because it’s the word the Council President is always using, but because all three of us are loud, and we are all constantly fighting for East Portland’s fair share.
Thank you to City Club of Portland for organizing a great conversation with all 3 East Portland councilors and our community. We talked about the future of Gateway, alternative transportation funding options, housing policy, economic development, and so much more.
A new proposal led by four Portland city councilors to spend unbudgeted housing dollars includes spending on several novel proposals, like a “rent buydown” plan to help erase debt accrued by affordable housing providers & a social housing strategy to purchase property for publicly-owned housing.
