I don't have the answer (obviously), but I'm not the only one to ask this! The book Fandom At The Crossroads has been interesting so far. It's definitely an accessible read and look at fandom, the pros/cons, and the research. If you're curious, check it out: books.google.ca/books/about/...

In real life, I'm a psych student whose personal life is taking a nose dive. So I'm taking a break from classes to figure out my life and thesis plan; you're never too old for a crisis kids! My escape has been diving back into the fandom world. Naturally, I ask myself every day, "Is this healthy?"
