For John Green, Itβs Tuberculosis All the Way Down (Gift Article)
The best-selling author βgot a little emotionalβ while talking with The Times about the worldβs deadliest infectious disease. Listen to the conversation.
I love that @alanburdick.bsky.social and the @nytimes.com are running videos and interviews like this one with John Green, about the tragedy of TB that is barreling down the tracks for tens of thousands of people: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/h...

An I.V.F. Mix-Up, a Shocking Discovery and an Unbearable Choice
Two couples in California discovered they were raising each otherβs genetic children. Should they switch their girls?
I'm a big ham, and I love having the opportunity to read my own magazine pieces for the audio version. But when Julia Whelan does the reading instead, I BOW DOWN--thank you, Julia, for your pitch-perfect narrating of this IVF mix-up story in the @nytimes.com: www.nytimes.com/2024/11/25/m...

This story happened in California. I kept thinking: How would this have played out in NY? I can't help but think it would be different! No shade to NYers, they're my people--but we're not the most easy-going crowd...

What's amazing to me is how little the law came into it--in the sense that the families, for the most part, simply worked out what they were going to do. Guided by precedent, I suppose, but mostly by their guts and their mutual kindness.
