root vegetable update : after 94 days, the carrots are revealing themselves. i keep waiting for this radish to become round but it only becomes wider. the beets are starting to become bulbous.

🌱 updates.. i turned BB-11 (basil) around to water and was shocked to see it had grown a ton without me realizing it. also i need to start eating this lettuce. BB-28 (swiss chard i got from daiso) is starting to sprout. bonus unrelated pic of a storm glass i moved next to my desk.
the two basil babies have grown enough to earn dedicated homes. a successful experiment
various plant updates.. strawberry and lettuce plants seem to be growing faster this week. i have a radish that i’m curious to see how big it will get. the chia plant is still blooming every day
the other night i upgraded the kale boys to use tall boys since they outgrew their previous cans.. hoping their leaves will grow bigger to match

first propagation is going strong so i upgraded it to a mustard jar. it slurps up water pretty quickly now

water swap day for this group. i took some cuttings to continue propagation experiments 🧪 we chopped up a mixture of the herbs to go with an egg and bagel brekkie
it looks like BB-26 (shiso) is starting to sprout 🌱 i planted these seeds on my birthday
* this plant is a mystery seed i found sprouting on the kitchen counter back in early september (might be a chia seed ?)
an Incident today.. i noticed BB-10* was dropping some of its leaves. its size was already menacing so roy said we should give it a chop..but since it was tall i couldn’t see that it was getting ready to flower

BB-01 (komatsuna) is my oldest plant at 86 days old but it’s still growing new leaves all the time. i take a couple leaves for miso soup every few days.
from my understanding, blocking light from the water solution is key to preventing algae from creepin in so cans are handy for that
