I've been meaning to learn 3D for ages, so this weekend I loaded up @blockbench.net and built my first ever low poly 3D model.

It's a little rough around the edges, but I'm pleased with it!

This week I've reached the inescapable part of early game development - the need to draw a whole bunch of trees and the rocks.

These high level executives are so cooked by LLMs their brains no longer work. It's probably the one role AI could replace without anyone noticing a decline in competency.

All of this is to say, if you want indies to keep making games, waiting for that 80% deep discount is going to make it very difficult.

I know not everyone can afford to buy games at full price, but we’re also not charging $60.

For anyone wondering what sort of 'publisher' would actively sabotage a project like this mid-development - it's Microsoft.

This has big "everyone on the modding team is gone apart from the ideas guy" energy.

Charlie Cleveland and co. are the heart of Unknown Worlds. For the entire leadership team to be kicked out in such an unceremonious way can only mean some ZA/UM levels of ratfucking has taken place.

I'm really sorry to see this happen to yet another talented studio.
