It certainly can be that, but it's like every social platform - you take a look at people's profiles and what they post, and on that basis follow them (and you can follow someone without connecting with them); so you can get a really useful feed from it.

This is not uncommon when it comes to fact-checking and is why media literacy MUST be part of the response to misinformation and disinformation. There's no guarantee that correct - or corrected - information will get in front of all the necessary eyeballs.
