Accessibility should be the default.

Everyone will need some type of accessible accommodations, either temporarily or permanently, at some point in their life.

Modellers - the call you have been waiting all your lives for...!

Does anyone have any models of #WW2 aircraft they could drop by a school in Newbury tomorrow?

A group of students wants to film a scene - presumably with them going "Pew! Pew! Nerrrrr!"

More CDC Cuts πŸ’£πŸ’₯

Gone is the Employee Assistance Program. They help staff deal with many things, among them coping with the trauma of being the victim of a terrorist attack 2 months ago.

Also gone, every policy and communications role left, eliminating any communication function at CDC.

Living between the abject horror of state violence and the sweetness of the solidarity we are all building to face said violenceβ€”canvassing our neighborhoods with KYR literature, migra watch shifts, signal chats full of love and outrage. Thank God for everyone stepping up to meet this moment.

a key thing about vought β€” and all of these guys β€” is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society

Let's not let anyone get away with pretending ICE is at any disadvantage here. These guys travel in big packs- usually 6+ unmarked vehicles; carrying dozens of war zone ready men, masked and heavily armed. ICE is the predator going after regular people and peaceful protestors.

Johnson will soon be forced to call the House back into session. He can’t stall the Epstein vote forever. Inciting violence at the No Kings rallies on the 18th would serve as the distraction they will desperately need.
It won’t stop me from going, but be aware and stay safe.

Across Michigan, people are getting crushed by the skyrocketing cost of living. And it’s not lost on me that these costs are a direct result of a broken system. One that doesn’t hear you, and too often only listens to folks at the top.

Trump’s building a golf course in Qatar.
He accepted a $400M luxury jet as a gift from Qatar.
His son-in-law got a $1.5B investment from Qatar and other Middle Eastern countries.
His top officials like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi worked for Qatar.

And now this.

You know a lot of attention has been put on #RFKJr,
#RussellVought & the #GOP Congress on the mess we’re facing but it’s time for #JohnRoberts and his court to take equal blame for the lawless destruction of public health. They are political actors here, no longer can hide behind their robes.

The National Guard mainly exists for domestic purposes as a compact where Governors agree to help each other in cases of disasters.

It runs on trust and norms of reciprocity.

Having Governors send their troops against the will of the receiving state creates some real long term problems.

Let’s not forget that every single Republican who stands by and enables Donald Trump could stop this recklessness today, tomorrow or any damn day of the week. Their failureβ€”their refusalβ€”to do so makes them complicit in his crimes and the crimes of his corrupt, lawless regime.

When people wonder how Epstein continued to have powerful friends even after everybody knew, consider that a Nazi salute followed by blithely starving children and cutting off their life sustaining medicines wasn’t a deal breaker for anyone in power positions.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

I want to add this, because if you haven't been in this situation, maybe you don't know. When a cop in riot gear is shoving you and yelling "GET BACK," there's usually nowhere to actually get back to, because there's a crowd of people behind you and you literally can't move at the pace they want.

This is just so very, very illegal. And Republicans in Congress aren’t the least bit interested in controlling the purse. They’re just employees of trump org at taxpayer expense. This is a dictatorship.

So to summarize:

- There is a pattern where Vought makes the RIFs too wide, apparently to flood the zone with sh*t and see who will draw protests.
- They restore some people after outrage and work by us.
- But we are still left with many who remain fired at the end.

GOP lawmakers lost their consciences years ago so do NOT give them credit for having one. If they’re concerned about long-term political consequences, it’s only because they’re concerned about losing their jobs, healthcare coverage, money, and any other perks of their jobs.

One great aspect of iconic inflatable costumes (aside from how they instantly undermine propaganda about war zones) is that it's useless to arrest the person wearing one. Cuffing a frog would make law enforcement look pathetic. And carting one off just guarantees that more will show up the next day.

Conclusion
So here we are, with many Democrats responding to each new horror unleashed with a social media post attempting to drive conversation back to what surveys say voters care most about. Instead of speaking about what’s actually occurring, these Democrats have wedged themselves into an impossible corner where what they say barely gets heard and what gets heard can barely be credited. You cannot occasionally tell Americans the truth that this regime is veering into dictatorship while also promising to meet and negotiate in good faith with it. You cannot convey the full extent of the threat before us, let alone marshall public will into needed resistance, when your actions (or lack thereof) routinely undermine your utterances.

We often hear of the need for a β€œbig tent” to combat authoritarianism, a term that seems to mean welcoming in more people but not immigrants and their allies, not LGBTQ people and their loved ones, not women who’d like some reproductive autonomy and their champions. And, yes, it will take a mass movement to bring down this regime. But for a big tent to stand, it requires a central rod β€” otherwise it’s a tarp that smothers you. To win this battle, we must run on β€” not from β€” the broadly-held values most Americans cherish and make clear we are in a battle against fascism, not just inflation.

I truly believe the ICE raids upset most people. And for soft Trump voters, it creates an incentive to move left and pretend the never voted for Trump.

Fine if they need a "we didn't know" narrative. But hammering the fuck out of this issue, making it inescapable on social media, is the move.
