But how much of it was coherent? I didn’t watch so I wouldn’t know.
Just on my walk from 8th and Brown to 10th and Brown I saw one 47 stop at 8th and Brown(regular route) and one 47 stop at 10th and Brown (detoured route). You can’t make this shit up.
I have been taking the 23 bus since the detour was put into place because it feels like each driver makes their own choice whether to follow the detour or not
The app does not have the detour listed anymore - the detour on the app had the end date set as 2/24
I take the 47 every morning. There was a water main break near east poplar rec so the buses are supposed to be detoured. According to the signs at the bus stops between 8th and Poplar and 8th and Spring garden it runs until 3/1.
This is good news, we don’t need crazy spot zoning bills going forward
I’m not understanding why the set process is “fetishism”. This developer could have built multi-family by right on this lot and avoided a trip to ZBA. We could use more density - instead they decided to subdivide the lot for two single family homes which is not the highest and best use for the lot
The issue is the community meeting hasn’t taken place yet. The meeting with the RCO is a required part of this process for a reason. Our city needs housing developed but the public process is still important and if we are to develop ethically it needs to be followed.
All that to say, it’s important to be an engaged citizen, sometimes things get done.
SEPTA was actively putting up a brand new fence to secure their property when I stopped to take this picture
This space has seen constant illegal dumping and homeless encampments and the tree in the foreground was dead and breaking apart making the sidewalk unsafe
Finally after 2 years of advocating for my community via 311, phone calls to SEPTA, and communication with my council members office the city and SEPTA finally came out and cleaned up this piece of property along the regional rail overpass
Go birds.
The giant screens on market st have been advertising the new Hulu series on the Chiefs for the last week or so and I can’t help but think that this might not be the right market for these ads
Kind of makes me sad that that’s happening to such a beautiful historic department store, but they have to fill it with something, even temporarily.
They’re putting a spirit of Halloween in the old Strawbridge and clothier building.
I think that putting in place a tiered system for historic designation that they detail in the article will need to happen. We want folks to be able to stay in their homes and repair them affordably.
I’m for preserving historically significant structures, but we need to be responsible with how we designate and what burdens or barriers those processes place on homeowners. We are still the poorest large city in the country and we need to keep that in mind with all of our policies.
The city needs to get their shit together. The communication is piss poor
If I knew recycling wasn’t being collected I wouldn’t have put it out, now it’s a giant mountain from people dumping their recycling into and around my bin
My block has 4 weeks worth of recycling sitting on the curb right now. Our pick up day is Monday, it wasn’t collected the day before they went on strike, the week of the strike, and now 2 times after
Found out via 311 yesterday that the city is just not collecting recycling so that they can focus on just collecting trash…yet they didn’t think to communicate that with people.
Looks like we finally have a date for the opening of the Amazon fresh at spring garden and 6th. August 14th at 8 am
Finally some signs of progress at 6th and Spring Garden. Looking forward to having a grocery store closer to my house (even if it is Amazon fresh)
I don’t think they have enough no stopping signs on this block…I’m counting almost 20
I could not care less about Biden’s administration right now. It’s a waste of energy.
I just can’t comprehend why folks even want to talk about Biden with what this current admin is doing right now
www.inquirer.com/business/bil...
This guy is such a slime ball. At minimum these giant ugly billboards should be going in front of the art commission…the city should be fighting against this - we don’t need more ugly visual clutter
They are always set on privatizing all services (usps, water services, transportation) when does that ever work out well? Very rarely, that’s why they have one example they call out
www.inquirer.com/opinion/comm...
This opinion piece man, the PA republicans are dead set on destroying Philadelphia.
