The river was pretty big today after all the rain we’ve had.
Farage saying they’re woke… Wonder what word these idiots used before ‘woke’ became popular with the right wing nut jobs?
It’s bewildering that people down south are complaining about the possibility of getting wildlife on their banknotes. I don’t think I heard a single complaint here when they brought them on here. I love it when I get these notes, especially the otters.
Below are the Royal Bank of Scotland notes.
A big tick for all of the below from me.
I was really surprised about some of the reviews. I also thought it was excellent. I wouldn’t want to buy the soundtrack apart from a Halloween party though.
I finished the BBC adaptation of Lord of the Flies last night. Shout out to the folk who created the music. It did a very good job of raising my stress levels enormously.

🪬🧿 There is no amount of money, oil, or gold in the world that is worth more than having bees, trees, and clean water.
Can you believe how well Scotland is doing this year?! Unfortunately I only went to the one match we lost. We even did well in the football. It’s a very weird feeling for us…
🙌 🏴 😊
@elsnicol.bsky.social I’ve turned it off in case I’m jinxing them.
Score out of date a minute later.
Took the dog out for a walk as fully expected Scotland not to do well at the rugby. Omg 40-14!!
Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. But right now, they’re under attack.
Several Republican-controlled states have redrawn their congressional maps to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterm elections.
Currently reading A History of Modern Britain in Twenty Murders by Professor David Wilson.
Winning isn’t everything.
Convenient philosophy when you’re losing. 😅

I really liked this book.
We have quite a bit of flooding around the fields here. This was on my walk this afternoon.

1 March 1819, Edinburgh: birth of Alexander Melville Bell. An elocution & phonetics lecturer at Edinburgh University, his 1855 book 'Letters and Sounds' included as an elocution exercise some tongue-twisting short sentences, amongst them ‘She sells sea-shells’. Next up: The Driver’s Seat by Muriel Spark. #books #novella
He also writes in a very simple manner which makes some of the difficult issues covered in the story seem even more awful.
The whole book was great. A great story, very funny and moving too.

It’s one of the books I’ve enjoyed the most in quite a while. It’s beautifully written.
I might have to re-read it. I’m absolutely loving My Friends by Fredrik Backman. It was my choice for our bookgroup so have to try and get it finished before the Saturday evening. It’s a long book, which is always risky for a book group book, but everyone has said they’ve loved it too so far.
