I’ve been working hard this past week on making this lino block work. The last two days I finally pulled good prints. Fingers crossed this streak will continue! It’s another 8 colour print that takes about 6h to spot ink and layer the colours and wipe away wherever I don’t want a colour to be.

I had a friend come by today to help with clean up. So by the time I was pulling my #print for the day the #studio was already half cleaned up! What a delight. She also filmed me pull the print. ☺️ What a treat!

You know today may have been the first day in 3 weeks that I am feeling better since smashing my toe to bits.And I realized it when I saw all the smiles in my camera roll. I am now deep into editioning the first of 5 large blocks.

I mixed #inks today for a solid 5 hours. I have everything ready for the first #print to be pulled tomorrow. This one will have 7 colours layered right onto the block. I am looking forward to it. Cotton swabs at the ready. #Brayers up. Onwards!

During a few days on the couch to rest my damaged foot, I spent a really solid amount of time in my #sketchbook. As I am running out of brush pens and getting a new set isn’t something I can make happen right now I’ve pulled out the prisma coloured pencils. I love the creamy texture. #drawing #art

I managed to pull 3 decent prints this weekend. It takes 4h to get all the ink on the block so it’s definitely as per usual a slow process. I am happy with the results and am hoping to pull a proper edition later this year when I maybe have more time 😂.

Today I made a table for in front of my studio bookshelf. Something with adjustable legs (I still need two more for the middle.) at the exact width of the book shelf so I can access my supplies despite the table. I spent two days this week doing nothing but cut paper. I am preparing for 8 weeks of printing my large blocks and 4 days of printing the commission project. I cut about 82 pieces of Haini Kozo Japanese paper. I use water and a brush to cut it. Love the fuzzy edges. #japanesepaper #print #art #prep

I started pulling prints. I enjoyed working on this etching but now, on to linocuts! I have a stack of carved blocks ready to go. Starting with the commission project at the end of April, and then big blocks.

Thank you :) I think to me it is about finding a vehicle to express a deep love for the human body & therefore ourselves. I like the idea that we are in every cell. Instead of separating ourselves from our bodies. There is a need to learn to celebrate our body despite our flaws, differences& illness

Kindness, Longing, Love and Nurturing were some of the first cellular prints I made. Musings on what could these intangible parts of us look like if they were cells in our bodies.
