Rev. Jesse Jackson stood with residents of the District demanding what should have always been ours: the right to govern ourselves.

He showed up for D.C. because he believed the people of the nation’s capital deserved the same political power as every other American.

Man, expectations are so low and I understand. People have been so beaten down politically that they think that nothing will be changed. But WE are the ones who have to push them to enact the policies they commit to. Nothing will 'just happen.'
