Yet another example showing how the main people pushing a simplistic identity politics narrative are right-wing politicians & pundits promoting a regressive patriarchal white supremacy. Many folks are opposed to this narrative as seen in the campaign & election of Hannah Spencer in Manchester.

I am teaching the film version of Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis in my Graphic Cultures class this semester. We were going to watch it next week, but because of snow days, I’ve moved it to the end as a kind of summation text for the course, which has already been so relevant to the present moment.

Concierge medicine as horror show. This story is so upsetting, not least because many of the doctors mentioned are still practicing & so far have not been held accountable for their unethical & likely also criminal activities.

It’s morally reprehensible, & so tiresome, that the leaders of the “opposition” party in the US can only offer contorted statements regarding actions that are clearly unconstitutional & also deeply unpopular.

Yes. I often say teaching is performing enthusiasm, which isn’t faking it or being entertaining, but simply demonstrating that you care deeply about a topic or a concept or a text.
