Rec’d the 360-feedback form to fill out for my line manager’s performance review. In the improvement areas box I feel like I should be writing something like “has no clue what or how I’m doing at any time” but let’s be honest, if someone’s going to leave me unsupervised/feral I’m going to let them

July 13 - Dear diary, it’s been 3 weeks since the battle for the house against the moths began. A runny nose has forced me to stop to replenish my stores of P10L fanfics and Kpop Demon Hunter memes. Dusted off my switch and downloaded Palia though I fear this was a poor decision as laundry mounts.

I was hoping she could help me make sense of the ending but no, now just one more person baffled

Vacuuming 10yo’s stuffies before rewashing them: 8 dragons, 4 5ft-long snakes, a baby snake, a 3-headed hydra, a duskull, and a goose. That’s my girl. My strange beloved girl.

It’s so funny realizing how the furniture of the era and space just click. My house was never meant for the late 2000s overstuffed furniture we found on clearance when we moved in, it takes up so much room.

I mean the good news is that midcentury modern furniture is cheap right now and easy to clean. For one silly moment I was like “but will it look okay in my late 50s house?”

Me: We need to replace the living room couch and chairs

Kids: Can’t we clean them?

Me: *mental reel of 14 years of rabbit damage, baby fluids, kid pee, kid vomit, kids wiping runny noses, peanut butter fingers, haunted couch mattress*

Me: No

Trying to look on the bright side: with over half our stuff ruined and in the trash the house is going to look amazing when we’re done.

I know my cleaning has been slipping the last couple years with the non-stop life chaos, but did not expect the entire house to be quietly infested by clothing moths.
