I have just held a call with President Pedro Sรกnchez to express the EUโs full solidarity with Spain.
The EU will always ensure that the interests of its Member States are fully protected.
Everyone who demanded a multipolar world is now getting exactly what they asked for.
It means the return of spheres of influence and brutal regional wars.
The rules are gone.
Be careful what you wish for
Logistics is woke. Supply is woke. End-state planning is woke. Force protection? Believe it or not, woke

๐ช๐บ Ten European countries are working together to prepare evacuation plans for the population in the event of a major war, โ Reuters
Denmark, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland.
That's what I've been doing for the past weeks - assessing the social, economic, and environmental impact of housing a couple of hundred people.
Then I put on the TV and it's like, "what plan? There's no plan."
"F--- you, we've got nukes."

I'm not against joining talks with France.
I just think this is going to be one of those incidents where they say one thing but soon realize that we can't afford to sit this out.
As a result, the part where we're supposed to debate and deliberate these things is squeezed or left out altogether.
Yes, I totally agree with that assessment.
They don't like to end up being at odds with our European allies either, however, so we get this "hit the brakes", "slam the gas", "hit the brakes" motion -
Contradictory statements, rushed decisions, and backpedaling.
Plausible.
It's also possible that our government is feeling the pressure so today they're like "let's not rush this".
Tomorrow, there will be a statement along the lines of "we're going to do this and that's the end of the discussion".
Of course, a week later they will be bending over backwards to explain how nothing has changed and no one should, in any way, feel threatened by this.

Finland's Minister of Foreign Affairs says "there's no rush" to join the talks following France's European nuclear deterrent initiative.
If this is anything like the Greenland crisis, "no rush" means that we'll have a small nuclear arsenal by next Tuesday.
Lithuania would not get anything in return.
Denmark was one of the United States' best allies and that didn't matter either.
And then there's the whole "collapse of the rules-based international order" thing

They simple.
They man.
They like boom. Big boom.
Trump was told in 2025 that Iran and his favorite country, Russia, are allies. He was taken aback by that, but forgot it before the meeting ended.
Trump and his administration are incapable of assessing the knock-on effects of their military campaigns.
It's not a war against Russia but having him think that isn't the worst thing that could happen

What is so maddening about Europe these days is that even in Europe this is not the Big Story. We are so captured by American drama, and the easy content its news providers overwhelm us with.
