Oh, and Hubby reminds me to tell you to line the bottom of the pot with veggies (we usually use chunky onions and baby carrots). It helps with flavor and to keep the meat from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

It depends on your crock pot.
Give it at least 12 hours, maybe up to 16.
As long as it doesn't run dry, you have a lot of wiggle room. If you have a meat thermometer, you can check to see when it's up to temp.

We haven't done a turkey in the crock pot, but we frequently roast pork and beef in ours. You won't get crispy skin, but it will cook up nice. You'll need to add a bit of water or broth and keep an eye on it. Plan to let it cook overnight.
