Mood of the day.

I hear a "but it's just politics" excuse from such folk. No. Politics is debating what to tax and how to spend the money. These are moral issues, and when Trumpist acquaintances vote for the side that says (for example) certain kinds of children shouldn't exist, one is justified in cutting ties.

Requiem has taken to sleeping on my printer just to be close to me, so I put a soft fuzzy blanket on top of the printer to make it more comfortable for her.

I told another actress that I was going to audition for the lead in the stage-play version of Stephen King's Misery, and to my horror she gave the usual thespian good-luck wish, "Break a leg." I replied "Please don't say that when it's Misery," and she burst out laughing.

The acting part of my creative new year is definitely coming together. I got invited to audition for the lead in an upcoming play! I'm up against some pretty strong competition and don't expect to get the role, but the invitation alone has done a lot for my confidence going forward.

My resolution for 2024 is quite vague: Pursue more creative activities. I plan to get back to writing fiction. I'd like to get back into playing music, and take some voice and language lessons. I'd like to make more videos, and I'd like to do more acting. It's a full agenda for the coming year!

I have introduced the Barbarian to "What We Do in the Shadows" (the TV series) and she is loving it.
