The Republican-led Congress is back in town to work on the budget. They’ve given a lot of lip service to supporting a family friendly economy, but now is when we really see their priorities.
At a time when our elected officials should be standing up for their constituents, Republicans in Congress are enabling Trump to impose tariffs on families and weaken our economy. We need to hold Republicans accountable and remind them who they work for: the American people.
As child care providers across the country struggle to keep the lights on, higher tariffs will force them to make difficult decisions btwn sacrificing their own pay, raising tuition, or closing.
Either way, families will lose access to care when they cannot afford to.
At a time when families are struggling to make ends meet with the high costs of child care, food, housing, and healthcare, the Trump tariffs will squeeze their budgets even further, leaving less money in their pockets.
Trump campaigned on lowering costs for working families and boosting our economy, but the tariffs announced by his Administration today will do the exact opposite.
