I kinda sold out myself a bit. I'm a BIG Facebook hater, but last year I started posting more to Insta - and I certainly enjoy getting views from musicians I tag :) It is a main service for the industry now and some folks are happy with just being on there - but I do mention Bluesky regularly:)

It's really hard to build something from scratch. I ham hearing the EU wants to have their own platform like this and I'm like: yeah, who would even join ANOTHER ONE? Sometimes I am pessimistic and feel it's even too late for Bluesky, even more so for the newer guys in the mix.

It seems nice,but it definitely needs more folks :) Right now, it's mostly folks concerned about Palestine and now this new war with Iran. Certainly, important issues but it needs to diversify itself a little more. But I like the UI, for example. We'll see how many people will use it

I don't like they're limiting the hashtags like Insta, it really slows down the account growth. And for now they don't have a web client so they need to get it ASAP.

But hey - they are still small guys. I will root for everyone against Facebook and Twitter.

Unfortunately, I only counted a few musicians and labels on the platform. Right now, it's more obscure than Mastodon.

I recently said that there are three kinds of social media people - Stories/Reels/Images (IG), TikTok - and boring text guys like me. UpScrolled is somehow trying to cater to... all three, which is either an idiotic or genius idea, we'll see.
