“The introduction of the iPod accelerated a process which was already begun with the invention of home stereos: the transformation of music from something normally experienced communally, to something enjoyed individually; now as an actual means of isolation.”

New FlyLo EP is out today. Probably the most epic 13 minutes of music so far in 2026. Touches every genre in the radius of futuristic 8-bit laser hardcore space jazz. I hope there’s more of this coming soon.

From squat parties to a cottage on a wildflower common, Loula Yorke has built a practice around beauty, ecological dread, and the feminist history that 'Hydrology' quietly carries forward. The Tonearm's Carolyn Zaldivar Snow digs into the soil.

FedEx just hit me with a customs bill weeks after delivery. I already paid 20€ for shipping, now they want an additional $20, and whatever I can pay the extra tarif but but 15$ of that is just a FedEx fee. Why the lack of transparency?
In memory of Éliane Radigue the makers of this documentary have made it free to view online. What a lovely gesture

Forever changed by Éliane Radigue's music. Now she has gone into a vast silence. Thank you.
R.I.P. Éliane Radigue, one of the most innovative and radical composers of our century- if you haven’t heard her music yet, prepare for something simultaneously delicate and oceanic. I don’t love the word “genius” but she deserves it.

I only ever read it in the bookstore but same
I tried to pick a record I got at 19 that was new at the time. Saw them at Skirball at NYU maybe June 2003?
I think it’s still around but it was a very nicely designed and expensive anti consumerist magazine
