The Greens are set to be a powerful force in the next Parliament, as part of a strong progressive crossbench and holding the balance of power in the Senate, pushing for more action on the climate, housing & cost of living crisis.

Congratulations to Prime Minister Albanese and Labor on their campaign to keep Dutton out.

To the many, many thousands of volunteers who have run the biggest campaign in Greens history – thank you for fighting for a fairer, brighter future.

Stephen Bates has been an incredible voice for Brisbane - delivering 20,000 meals and holding more than 200 events in his community.

He went from a retail worker into the halls of Parliament, to holding big corporations accountable for three years.

He has great things to come.

There's never been a first term MP who has had the impact Max Chandler-Mather has had.

He put the rental crisis firmly in the spotlight. He secured billions of dollars for social housing. He fed his local community with his own money.

This is not the last we’ve seen of him.

We'll retain all our Senators, Melbourne & we’re looking good in Ryan, Wills & Richmond – we'll know more soon.

While our national vote has increased, the collapse in the Liberal vote means that Labor will win the seats of Griffith with Liberal preferences, and Brisbane too.

Today, millions of people have voted Greens with hope and ambition.

We have secured the biggest national vote in our history.

And together we have kicked Dutton out.

Everyday people have been forced to make impossible choices.

Paying for groceries or rent. Getting an education or seeing the GP.

The major parties are failing us. But this election you don’t have to choose between the timid and the terrible.

You can vote 1 Greens.

If you think it’s wrong that a nurse pays more in tax than a multinational, vote for it.

If you think it’s wrong that billionaires like Gina Rinehart make $67k an hour while 5 mill people barely scrape by, vote for it.

Nothing changes unless your vote does.

There are 7 million renters across the country.

But right now the major parties are spending $180 billion on handouts, making it easier for wealthy property investors to buy their sixth home, than for you to buy your first.

If you want change, you have to vote for it.

It doesn’t have to be this way. And there are millions of us fighting for something better.

This campaign the coal & gas lobby, conservative media, big corporations and political establishment have thrown everything they’ve got at us.

Why are they spending millions? Because they know we can win.

They’re terrified. And they should be.

I’ll never be able to thank the volunteers who power this movement enough.

100,000 conversations with voters across the country.

10,000 placards up on fences.

20,000 volunteers ready to go on Saturday.

$0 taken from big corporations.

We know Greens pressure works.

We’ve now seen Labor adopt a number of Greens policies – like 50c fares in Queensland, wiping 20% of student debt, making it free to see the GP and making supermarket price gouging illegal.

We’ve got a track record getting Labor to act.

Last time there was a minority, the Greens got dental into Medicare for kids.

This is our chance to finish the job and get dental covered for everyone.

And you know we’re serious about it: it’s why I’ve carried around a giant novelty toothbrush this entire campaign.

We have a once in a generation opportunity.

Experts are predicting a minority gov, and the Greens are within reach of winning seats across the country.

We can keep Dutton out, get Labor to act, and elect one of the most progressive parliaments in this country’s history.

Dutton’s mask is off.

His agenda is clear: Trump-style politics, hateful culture wars, cut essential services, all designed to deflect while his billionaire mates get richer.

He fans the flame of hate.

The Greens will never help him form Government.

In the middle of the housing crisis, they're both giving $180b to wealthy property investors.

In the middle of the climate crisis, they're approving more coal & gas.

In the middle of the cost of living crisis, they're letting 1 in 3 big corporations pay no tax.

In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics: a home, food, world class health and education.

We should be taking strong action on the climate and environment crisis.

It’s not controversial.

The major parties don’t agree.

This is it.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

We can’t keep voting for the same two parties expecting different results.

And if there’s one thing that the big corporations & billionaires don’t want you to know, it’s that change is possible.

You just have to vote for it.

Change really is possible.

In minority government, the Greens will push for dental into Medicare, a cap on rents, wiping all student debt and so much more.

We can't keep voting for the same two parties and expecting change.

This election, vote for it. Vote 1 Greens.

Do you know why the coal-funded lobby groups are spending millions trying to take down the Greens?

Because they know if enough of us vote for a party that they don’t control, it’s all over for them.

They’re terrified.

And they should be.

It’s clear Labor won’t act on climate unless pushed.

So in a minority parliament, we’ll get the Climate Minister to use existing powers to stop new coal & gas projects.

The more Greens we elect, the more power we’ll have to make that happen.

The major parties must think people don’t see their inaction.

But millions have seen the bushfire flames & the rising floodwaters.

Labor & the Liberals have taken millions in donations from the fossil fuel corporations.

We can’t escape the heat and neither will they.

Coal mines approved by the Environment Minister this term alone will release 2.5 billion tonnes of climate pollution.

That’s over 5 times Australia’s annual emissions.

We voted out the Liberals but still got Morrison’s coal-loving agenda.

Coal and gas are fuelling the climate crisis.

But in a single term, while Australia was hit by fires & floods, Labor approved over 30 new coal and gas projects.

And Dutton wants more.

The Greens will put climate action back on the agenda.
