Reeves reaffirms commitment to end windfall tax in talks with North Sea bosses The Chancellor met figures from BP, TotalEnergies and Serica in Downing Street.

I'm dismayed by rumours govt may scrap the windfall tax on oil and gas giants

With energy bills still driving cost of living pressures, it's senseless to cut taxes for highly profitable polluters, who already receive Β£2.7bn per year in tax breaks

Take just 5 minutes to watch this short film from @climatemajority.bsky.social
Then ask yourself: 'how can I really speak about the weather?'
How can we change small-talk into a conversation for meaningful change?

Exeter Greens challenge Stagecoach over 'steep' city bus fare hikes Exeter Greens challenge Stagecoach over steep bus fare hikes as operator defends its new pricing structure and prepares for electric vehicle rollout

β€œIt’s clear that a lack of ambition by Stagecoach to increase passenger numbers is bypassed by an easier route to generate profits. So if they can carry 10 passengers paying Β£5 each rather than 20 passengers paying Β£2 each, they'll carry fewer passengers if this means more revenue.”

We are not immune to the effects of a heating planet. The true cost of climate crisis looms over us. People driven from their homes because of flooding.
This in the UK.
At least the local council are looking after their community.

β€˜Bristol is leading the way’ on renewables, says Martin McCluskey, the UK’s minister for energy consumers.

And it shows what Green politics can deliver locally.

This is what happens when we put communities, climate, and fairness first.

BBC: Beyond mineral resources, scientists estimate that Greenland has enormous reserves of oil and natural gas. Since the 1970s, oil and gas companies have tried to find ancient reservoirs off the coast of Greenland, but their attempts turned up empty. Still, Greenland's continental shelf geology does show similarities to other fossil fuel sites in the Arctic.

#Venezuela has vast reserves of oil & gas. #Greenland likely does too, as well as rare earth minerals.

Putin's emissary Kirill Dmitriev is now hailing the prospect of joint US/Russian exploitation of the Arctic.

The Trump-Putin Axis is fossil fuel kleptocracy on steroids.

Carla and Jacinda smiling to the camera with their arms around each other, in a cafΓ©/event space. Carla and Jacinda smiling and talking

Great to hear Jacinda Ardern's thoughts today, alongside Katie White MP's & Rain Newton-Smith's, on how we rebuild the climate consensus.

A big part of it is fairness - making sure those who contributed most to global warming take responsibility, and everyone benefits from the green transition.

15 years ago today the Tory & Lib Dem government tripled tuition fees.
Young people, our economy and society are robbed of the learning and skills universities offer- whilst graduates face average debt of Β£53,000.
Education should be a right, not a privilege. Scrap tuition fees.

Recognizing the devastating impact of Brexit is a good start.

But Labour needs to be more courageous

The Green Party would support immediate membership of the customs union as a step towards full membership of the EU
