I do think eventually @ofstednews.bsky.social or @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social are going to have to say something about the risks around safeguarding that schools, the DfE and Ofsted themselves are running by remaining on Twitter when it is generating CSAM.

Do your professional development trainings look like this??
What an awesome day out at Lake Norman State Park with the Schools in the Park Program. Working together to bring the outdoors into the classroom and the students out exploring State Parks!

I haven't written anything in years and I pretty much forgot about my blog. But reflecting on the past 4 years living in NC and teaching. My writer's block finally dissipated into something reflective of my journey here.

I think nature can do that to us all!
I did too! Women like her are so incredibly inspiring!
I actually cried when I heard the news that Jane Goodall had died. She has had such an incredible impact throughout her life. A completely inspirational woman... β€οΈ
Oh wow what a find!
I've been feeling sad about having to leave NC in the new year after my newfound fungi obsession but seeing your post made me happy π
π
I've had to do the same...

Out on 19th Sept - very excited to see it in print! Written by teachers for teachers. π
Yeah, I would definitely sort insulation first. I live in the States at the moment and we have air conditioning but it didn't work well and our bills were high until we insulated the attic space and door.
Last night in the UK before my flight in the morning.
Let out some energy by breaking in my new trail running shoes π
The heat really hits different here π₯΅
Was very disappointed when I read this article this morning. It had been one of my favorite reads.
Spotted it browsing in a charity shop! Was very excited!
Worried I bought too many books while back visiting the UK, may exceed my weight limit for the trip back π
These are harder to find in the US unfortunately, and I don't like using Amazon too much for books.
Summer reading π
Jim Crow and the Civil Rights movement wasn't that long ago at all...I imagine many of those hateful people are still alive and of course pass down their hate to their children for anyone they see as "other". Also, if you've ever seen Fox News, it's vile.
Bought The Pebbles on the Beach book yesterday at Lynmouth and almost finished reading it. This morning we went to St Audrie's Waterfall and searched for pebbles and sea glass.
This afternoon we are fossil hunting in Watchet after an amazing meal and some ciders at a local pub!
I dont want to go back π
You're right, I don't think I've gone a year when I haven't watched LOTR at least once. Absolutely timeless.
Thank youuuu! Arrival has been so underrated!
I am worried about the return flight though with my husband on a visa. Especially after the Vance meme fiasco...like if a meme is all it takes then...π
(Also can't resist sharing it again myself π€£)
Oh no i haven't caught up with it, im in the UK atm. I escaped for a bit π€£
Wait what happened now π
I was so happy to see him be successful and was definitely jealous not to be in NYC! But now I'm scared for him...
Itβs going to take generations to undo the harm of this administrationβs first 152 days.
And lunch is only 25 min and they have to remain seated.
I was actually shocked coming to teach in the US that MS and HS don't get recess time. Majority of of countries around the world have at least an hour!
I visited our native pollinator garden at school today to check on it before my flight and found monarch caterpillars on our milkweed!
I created a little flyer with the photos to share the news with the community!

I heard! We've had a lot of rain here and but just as warm, lots of humidity. I do wonder if I'm too used to the cushy air conditioning and may get a shock when we go back π€£
