Gentrification of fandom to the normie's palate.

Truly. And I think what's get me is that losing those courtesies ushered in this era of centering the fandom around yourself and your tastes and your morals instead of finding the corner of the sandbox where you like to play and I just hate that. It makes people rude.

The fact that this became passé in fandom evolution along with citrus based fanfic definitions and the term "squick" is one of those things I get irrationally annoyed about. It just seems so self-centered to me, I dunno.
